American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life

This year I will again be participating in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life on June 19-20th. My Reason to Relay is in memory of my father who lost his battle with cancer 6 years age, to join people around the world in celebrating those who have survived cancer, and supporting the lifesaving mission of the American Cancer Society. Please support me in the fight against cancer by making a donation at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/rebecca.lesaffre

For those of you unfamiliar withe the event, the Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people to:

  • Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. The strength of survivors inspires others to continue to fight.
  • Remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay, people who have walked alongside people battling cancer can grieve and find healing.
  • Fight Back. We Relay because we have been touched by cancer and desperately want to put an end to the disease

Mom’s Fitness Boot Camp

North Shore Women’s Boot Camp and Fitness

Announces Mom’s Fitness Boot Camp

Four-Week Program Begins May 5 in Melrose

Lead by Certified Personal Trainer, Melrose Resident

Melrose, MA. Mother’s now have a new option for getting in shape. North Shore Women’s Boot Camp and Fitness announces its new four-week Mom’s Fitness Boot Camp, a fun, affordable, and comprehensive program designed for women of all fitness levels.

The first four-week session of Mom’s Fitness Boot Camp starts on Tuesday, May 5 and takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., after school drop-offs, at North Shore Martial Arts Center, on 427 Main Street (Rear), in Melrose. The four-week, eight-session program is only $99.

Lead and developed by certified personal trainer and Melrose resident Rebecca LeSaffre, owner of North Shore Women’s Boot Camp and Fitness, this mother’s program is designed to help women build muscle; burn fat; increase strength, energy, and metabolism; and improve overall health in a fun, motivating, and supportive environment. To help optimize results, it mixes aerobics with strength training in a different exercise routine each session. Each four-week session begins and ends with an evaluation of your fitness and objectives, helping participants track their progress.

“The program is developed for women of all fitness levels, no matter how long they’ve been struggling with “baby fat” and their kids are teenagers,” chuckles Rebecca LeSaffre. “By joining, you’ll enjoy the camaraderie and support that comes from working out with other motivated women as you work toward your individual goal. And, of course, no make up, no problem.”

The program is not for new moms who have given birth within the past six weeks and don’t have the okay from their doctors to resume an exercise program.

LeSaffre leads Lynnfield Community Schools’ Weight Loss Challenge Program. She also runs a women’s fitness boot camp program, in Lynnfield, at the Centre Congregational Church at 5 Summer Street. That program runs on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Rebecca LeSaffre is an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Certified Personal Trainer, a National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association (NESTA) Certified Fitness Nutrition Coach, and a NESTA Certified Outdoor Fitness Trainer. As a certified personal trainer, Rebecca is educated in fitness and brings her clients an understanding of how the body works. She is qualified to assess what types of exercises will be most beneficial for meeting personal fitness goals, while also helping assure that you use proper form and technique for maximum results and injury prevention. Rebecca is a well-known trainer at several local YMCAs, as well as at My Healthy Fit.

To register for the Mother’s Fitness Boot Camp online or learn about other programs run by North Shore Women’s Boot Camp and Fitness, go to www.northshorewomensbootcamp.com or call Rebecca LeSaffre at 781-665-0343.
